Looks great man, Just a suggestion if you don't mind. Try painting the mask white and give it animal paintings, like traditional japanese masks. You can find good examples in blade of the immortal. In the part where Manji fights Kawakami Araya, the mask maker.

I never thought about it. But I don't think it would work. It would simply display black or a color instead of the correct texture. I'll try it for sure.
