it's got nothing to do with 'showing off', that's what seperates us from bodybuilders and contortionists. It's about dedicating your childhood to the most enjoyable sport on the planet and having an amazing time for every single second, do you honestly think that we'd go through all of this to show off? we do it because it's like cocaine to us, gymnastics is addictive, it's almost impossible for us to happily quit, ultimately we do it for fun; nothing else.

are really complaning about being a gymnast cuz if u are you should be lucky ny bff cant afford it and she wants to do gymnastics soooo bad......and if u are saying your lucky then ur not real good at showing it but really gymnastics is the best sport ever i doont care how many people think it is easy it isnt i would like to see thoses people last one day in gymnastics......or ballet i ve been doing gymnastics for 16 years and i quit ......i lost a lot of flexibilty and stregth im am back tho

I've been doing gymnastics for 10 years now and i've gone through injuries as small as a sprained thumb to something as severe as a fractured hip and i have a compression in my back that will never go away. I go to gym every day and some days i hate it so much but honestly i couldn't imagine my life without it. Its part of who I am now and if I were to give that up it would be like a part of me is dying. Its one of the best sports to get into but its one of the hardest to get out of.

Gymnastics defiantly takes a toll on everything.. i have been doing gymnastics for longer than i can remember and i was born with severe Erbs Palsy so gymnastics was both my physical therapy as well as just what i love but after years of gymnastics my body is starting to break down i get home from gym and i can barely move and yet i can not imagine my life without it.

@gymshiv totally right there :) I have a spinal crack so gymnastics is banned now. But I still look at gymnasts in training and envy them. They can go in and leave behind the craziness of life and just focus on doing what they love. It really is like cocaine. You can't quit happily without regrets.
