As usual, this takes things to the extremes. If the conservatives want less government bailouts and handouts, how come the oil industry insists on billions of dollars in subsidies? Why are there so many loopholes in the tax laws for big businesses?

Reagan was against loopholes too. I don't hold the party line, most true Conservatives that I know were against the bailouts as well. Obama is the King of Corporatism which is as anti-free-Capitalism as it gets. Corporatism is Government playing favorites in the market place eliminating fair corporate and/or individual competition. I hope that answers your question. Also, taxation is NOT a solution. You can take ALL the wealth of the millionaires an not touch even a month of Obama's spending.

I agree that socialism destroys individual incentive to excel because what motivation do I have to achieve if the reward is taken away from me? It never has worked in Europe and it won't work here. Capitalism and a free economy coupled with individual liberty has made America the greatest nation on earth, why do liberals want to change that? Granted it's not a perfect system, but no system is and it's the best system the world has ever known. What we need is a new president!

What subsidies? Tax deductions are not subsidies. No company pays income tax out of their profits - the taxes are "pass throughs" as part of the cost of goods sold (COGS) and thus you and I, the consumer, pay them.

That false impression corrected, I am for no deductions - either a Fair Tax where all retail purchases are taxed, no exception; or a flat tax where all individuals (no companies) pay the same flat rate, no deductions. Everyone pushes the wagon, only ther truly needy get a ride.
