TRIPOD - FOR PHOTOS (and some video):
Okay... Your Tripod is NOT the Place to Cut Corners. After being frustrated with trying highly rated sub $100 tripods from Amazon, I did more homework on and found this reasonably priced gem that is used by the Pros.

I wanted a lightweight, fairly compact tripod that I could take anywhere. One that could do anything and live to see another day. This IS THAT tripod! With the ball head, set up is easy. You can even do a nice pan with it in a pinch, while shooting videos.

TRIPOD - FOR VIDEO:
Again, I can't recommend that you skimp when it comes your video tripod, and I don't have time to explain why now (but maybe in a future video). So, just bite the bullet, and do it right the first time. You'll be glad you did. Here's the tripod I recommend you start with...

I'll add more affordable accessories that I have in my kit and studio as time allows...

Hope this all helps!

Thank you guys a bunch!!!

My Recommendation for Best Deals... I've personally purchased 90%+ of my DSLR and studio gear from Amazon because of their huge selection, ease of use, secure ordering, quick and often FREE shipping and great prices... I recommend that you give Amazon a look if you want to save 15% - 25% on your DSLR gear.... And if you don't have Amazon Prime, get it at checkout if you are buying anything over $500... you'll save most of the shipping and most likely earn back the cost of the Amazon Prime Membership.

  • Hey David, bought the Canon 600D with 18 - 55mm Kit, along with 55 - 250 mm Lens at a discounted price which came as a promotion from Canon. Also bought a wide angle lens from Vitacom. Want to make sure the gear is complete. :-) So journey has just started.

  • @DinoDove Very nice! Congratulations! Let me know what you think of the 55- 250 lens.

  • @DinoDove Nice! Love to visit Singapore with my wife sometime. Enjoy!

  • @DSLRVideoClassroom : Forgot to mention...Singapore is a great place. I have plans to visit near by places though Singapore is small, it has good views to capture which had inspired/lured me to buy a DSLR... :-)

  • @DSLRVideoClassroom : Yes indeed, I have been just checking out these books online..great reviews for them too. Surely will go for them. And yes will be attending the free training. Will keep you posted about my experiences. Thanks David for your valuable suggestions.

  • @DinoDove You are welcome. I love to help folks out! Let me know how you make out on your DSLR adventure...

  • @DinoDove Yes... that is a good price. Cool... Singapore... my family almost moved there when I was a boy... but my Dad decided not to take the job. Training is very good. Free training is better!!! Go for it! There is a 3 books set by Scott Kelby for around $50 US... this is a must have set. I recommend this to anyone beginner, intermediate and advanced. These books will become your best friend and will help you go from the basics to a firm grasp of what it takes to get great pics...

  • @DSLRVideoClassroom By the way ..thanks for the quick response :-)

  • Actually am in Singapore, so cannot buy on Amazon. I think the prices here at the Funan Digital Mall are quite reasonable. it comes out to be 1060 SGD, which is fairly 840 USD with 18-55 mm kit. Also I liked the idea of 50mm Lense for capturing images in low light conditions. Who knows, I might get that one too.

Canon is conducting complimentary training sessions for the DSLR owners. As I am begginer with DSLR I felt this might be useful. Whats your take on the training?
