@friendoist proto punk, garage rock, or just hard rock.
-
where did you get this?! Ive always wondered how it would sound without all the studio stuff and this is just great!
-
@grahamlaur What would you call the Stooges and MC5?
-
@SongsWeTaughtGolly yea...but I really like this version alot!! where do you find this one?
-
Not the original album version, but still a good listen.

@sizone so right!

@Epsilon15 Well... you can make the argument that VU and Nico is punk but I don't think that argument holds up too well. I just don't see what punk has to do with drones, violins, Eastern music, German chanteuses and 8-minute avant-noise jams. I usually think of Neu!'s "Hero" as the true birth of punk... most of what comes prior merely hints at it.

Where did you get this version of the song?

@grahamlaur Well the Velvet Underground & Nico came out in March 1967, so maybe not so much before punk if Parable of Arable land came out later.
Gerald,your version is better but this is still good. It's my first listen to the original. Thanks for the post.

Actually this is not the usual version of this song. The better known is slower and more psychedelic.
