We have that toy too, the lights going on and off activate the puzzle. Ours is in the garage and inevitably when I pass by it or turn lights on or off I hear the squeak of a mouse or the barking of a dog, so on.

My son has a toy like that. Same thing. When you turn off the light and there's a puzzle piece missing, it goes off. It's light sensitive. I believe in ghosts big time and don't doubt that you have a ghost, but, that specific incident is not ghost related.

yea its the sensor in the toy, its light sensitive. The way it works is when the puzzle piece is taken off the sensor makes the sound. We have a couple puzzles like that

Ok, my son has a puzzle like this and if a piece is off the board, it makes noises when we turn off the lights because the puzzle makes noises when a sensor is covered by the puzzle piece! So....not buying it.
