  • @Onixthebunny No, there's different kinds of pufferfish :D

  • que es esto?

  • @Onixthebunny Poison is ingested, meaning you have to put it in your mouth.

  • @Onixthebunny

Yes and No, the puffer fish is poisonous but you'd have to be eating it to get poisoned.

It's their organs that are harmful, the fish itself only has the defense mechanism to puff up.

  • Ok... is it just me or does everybody have an irrisistable urge to like poke him... Hehe i think its just me...

  • @Pop12646Okami Thats correct in the sence that many pufferfish are Fresh/Brackish, but mostly only the ones in the family Tetradon. The other, say, 80 percent of puffers, eg, lagocephalus, are marine. Nearly all are poisonous, containing Tetradotoxin. Bowfish-or more properly called Porcupinefish(diodontidae) are rarely poisonous, and only the ovaries and liver contain tetradotoxin. No puffers or porcupines are poisonous to touch, even the spines. Trust me, my mothers is a Ichtyologist

  • What kind of puffer is that?

  • Okay, everyone's getting mixed up here: most puffer fish are freshwater/brackish water fish. They are non poisonous, unless you eat them. They can be spiny, too, but not very many are. Blowfish are poisonous and spiny. They're poisonous if you eat them and if you touch their spines.

  • They're cute when they're like that lil' ball

  • It looks kinda cute. It's good to know you take good care of him. =)
