It's simple actually.

Patenting a Podcast is pretty much for those who are podcasting about a copyrighted ideal, or product. For instance, podcasting about World of Warcraft would most likely be illegal if this patent is successfully passed. Most podcasters haven't gotten permission to talk about WoW, nor gotten permission to use effects, samples, etc in it.

If this patent is passed then podcasters that haven't gotten permission to use things, would have to now...
