http://WhenInManila.com Where I'm from, in San Diego, California, you usually go for some Mexican food when you need to feed an insatiable hunger. It's also the best cure for hangovers and for late night after-party tummy growls. But here in Manila Philippines, you never go wrong with some middle eastern food!

Ababu Persian Kitchen is one of those hole-in-the-wall type places that starts to feel like home. I had my good friends Nico from 27+20 design boutique (http://2720.tv) and Katwo, vocalist from the band "Duster." http://www.spot.ph/2009/05/18/dont-call-them-sweethearts/

Anywayz, here's the thing, we totally wronged you guys by not showing more footage of the food once we got it. Sorry... we were all starving and it smelled soooo good while they were making it and then it came and we just stopped filming and started eating... damnit Harold!

As I was saying, we wronged you by not showing you how MUCH food they served us on one big plate! Best of all was that all that was just about 100 Pesos! So we got this plate full of buttered rice, tomatoes, onions, veggies, and loads of meat, for about P100. OMG!!!

Have I said OMG yet? Coz, like, OMG!

So yeah, Ababu Persian Kitchen in the QC is definitely one for the hungry, broke and fabulous. Other than the awesome and tasty main courses, do also try out their Crunchy Mocha Ice Cream! I tell you... that was one unsuspectingly good dessert. We were all just sort of looking around the table wondering why it was sooo good. Definitely recommend it, Crunchy Mocha Ice Cream, GET IT! I swear, those four words will change your life.... Crunchy-Mocha-Ice-Cream.

Mmmmmmm.... crunchy mocha ice cream...

Oh... where was I.... oh yes. Nex time, When In Manila, be sure to have some very affordable kebabs and shawarmas at Ababu Persian Kitchen. Oh and did I mention the Crunchy Mocha Ice Cream?

  • It's strange. Because you hardly can find any Shwarma place in Iran!!! Shwarma is not Persian, It's either Arabic or Turkish, but not Iranian/Persian!...it's ironic the "best shwarma" restaurant in this town is Persian!!

  • @tosan1 The name of the place is Ababu Persian Kitchen. They serve other food there too, I'm sure others are probably of Persian influence. We didn't name the place... just showing you what's there. =)

  • @pating13 I haven't been there in many years now. But in the early-mid 90's that is the place. They have an upscale resto in San Juan. But if you like beer with kebab . Then Timog is place where you can have both.

  • @Thudothwacker the one in timog ain't that good.

  • @WhenInManila1 :Hold that 4th plate on the table please....I'm on my way ;=)

  • The best kebab and shwarma in Metro-Manila. Can be found in Timog Q.C.. You could drink beer next door have your order delivered to you.

  • Who owns Abubu? Is there an official website? Salamath, in advance.

  • I hardly saw any Persian food in this video... Looks more like some kind of a "Fuision" - Arabic and South American perhaps rather than Persian cuisine... Looks tasty though!

  • do we have persian rice in manila? where can buy if there's any?
