I don't think so. They are on duty. Firefighters are always ready on their duty. But there are lots of factors that they can't stop the fire. Some said they had not enough water at that time. I think the fire burnt quickly because the buildings were made of wood and they are very old. That's why it was burnt quickly and easily. About the firefighters, I was surprised that they can stop the fire bravely, especialy the ones who worked on the roof !!!!!!!!!

I live in Phraputtabat. I was not there in May when the Fire broke out. And I was surprised to see all the buildings burnt down. The fire station is just opposite to the place. I heard that the firemen were drunk at the time......
