17 make the splash on January 1, 2009 even after waking up to 8 inches of fresh snow and snowing.
Thanks to Lakeside Best Western for access to the pool and hot tub.

Why not make it easier and just jump off the dock. Suppose that having to run all the way in would make it much more difficult! I'd prefer jumping in by about 10 to 1.

You are correct. If the water is still up far enough to go off the dock... I usually dive in. It takes a lot of energy to run INTO that freezing water. But this time, the water is about a foot deep at the end of the dock.
