For 52 years, until 2002, the Sacramento Music Circus canvas tent was raised every summer by hand. One of the legendary musical theatre summer stock, Music Circus was the last professional theatre in the round under canvas. In 2003 a new enclosed, tent theatre opened under teflon-coated fiberglass fabric -- The Wells Fargo Pavilion -- ending an era, but beginning a new one.
I've gone to Music Circus every year for as long as I can remember. The tent was always fun, but to be honest I'm glad they have air conditioning, now. :D

I wish the video slowed down at the points where it showed how the tent actually went up... too many short cuts... slow it down... people don't understand it anyway... let people who do have a chance to see what is happening... no side poles, no stakes, what the hell kind of a tent is this thing? Up in one spot for once a year??? That's no circus tent... just cause it is round doesn't make it a circus!
