The first of 18 songs by "The Singing Grammarian: Songs and Visual Presentations for Learning New Testament Greek Grammar." Purchase all 18 songs from www.kregel.com, http://tinyurl.com/3r8g57o

As this is for teaching Koine Greek, the Erasmian method of pronunciation is used (so you don't need to correct my pronunciation in the comments :-) Brief history on Greek pronunciation: http://tinyurl.com/q2z8yd

  • @danzac1979 oh...well thanks for being so cool about it...and the song actually kinda helped me learn it even though i pronounce it differently lol

  • @christy14141 Great! Good luck with the rest of your studies!

  • @danzac1979 oh...im sorry...i never heard it that way before

  • @christy14141 No problem — I've been called worse !! ;-)

  • Pi is pronounced "pie" not "pee"; and phi is "figh" not "fee" and chi is "cai" not "key"; psi is "sigh" not "psee"; seriously what idiot sang this?

  • @christy14141 Thanks for your kind words, I'm the idiot that sang this !! But you may want to ask what idiot taught you :-) I'm utilizing Erasmian pronunciation, used by the majority of Koine Greek scholars. I don't blame your misunderstanding, I actually learned it the way you are describing too, but that is an anglicization of the pronunciation. If you read the comments you'll see that some think we're both wrong !! do you also say ksee for ξ? And eye-oat-a for ι ?

  • Does Greek really sound so English?

We learn this in Holland too and of course we learn it wrong, with a Dutch accent... But is this correct..?

And by the way... Sorry for my bad English (and Greek:)

  • BWAHAHAHA SATERDAT NIGHT LIVE FTW

  • I never learn with songs. But their other manners of remembering just fine. I tend to lean to memory recall, and ive always loved astronomy so the alfabet was a breeze. Just had to relate them to the stars.

  • I also want to add that I read your description and believe me the Erasmian method is wrong! The ancient greeks used to pronounce the letters in a much more different way(for example they use to say homikron BUT hooomegha)! Anyway I appreciate that you have uploaded a video about my language! thnx! ~ whenwever you want come to Greece, I am buying ouzo and souvlaki! hahaha :-P ~ Take care! :-D

  • Thanks!
