Mid-winter Solstice.. Part one of three videos on this channel.
The well-known writer and Geomancer, Nicholas R. Mann, explains the meaning of this event and why we should celebrate solstice at this ancient place, the earthen mound on Windmill hill, Glastonbury. The Sun is seen to roll up the side of the Tor as it rises, and rolls down the other side as the day progresses; an obvious astronomical use of this mound from thousands of years ago to observe this event.
He starts by explaining that had the day not been cloudy, we would have better seen this event; his initial words are missing from this video, due to my starting the camera late.
Nick hasn't mentioned on this occasion, the possible significance of this place to the year 2012, the end of an epoch according to the Mayan calendar. He has talked of the Galactic core and the Sun lining up with it on 2012. Current world events seem to indicate the beginning of change.
Nicholas is the discoverer of the purpose of this ancient mound, with Pippa. Though this may seem to some to be a little eccentric, the details given are based on exhaustive research.
After Nicholas's talk, we see the erection and blessing of the portal. Many pass through it.

**I didn't shoot the 2009 event as I didn't get a reminder or invitation to shoot it. I should imagine that the ceremony would closely resemble this one shown.
Thanks. The only way to get these is to attend when the ceremonies are being held of course, but sometimes conditions are very difficult for shooting. I probably won't do this one again, as I've done it for two years now and the viewcounts aren't large. I'm reviewing the others too, but haven't decided yet whether to shoot them again or not. The main deciding point is how much attention they get here, with large viewcounts.
