  • geesh Dan i didnt know you had one of these, i thought i saw all your videos.

i may be getting one to restore in a few weeks

  • @Turkeydoodlers Yeh I used to have it , but sold it to some guys who have a studio and they do special effects recordings for a living. So its nice to see its getting some full use now :)

  • Wow, very nice. I have one my grandmother bought for me when i was an infant, now that im old enough to seriously play it, it's damaged and in desperate need of repair. The body and bellows all work fine, but when the bellows are pumped, 5 keys play even though they aren't being pressed. You got any references i can use for possibly restoring it myself?

  • Hi Mate , its either A) The reed plungers are most likely stuck in a down position and this allowing air to pass over the reeds and cause them to play -or- B) There is dust/dirt caught under the pallet (the reed plunger pushes this down)so for starters pump the organ to full pressure and keep pressing those 5 sounding keys as there is a good chance it may suck out any foreign matter or help unstick a jammed plunger. You may need to do a few times before you get any results :)

  • Endless love?

  • Yes it is ,very good! :)

  • These will come in handy when the gov't shuts off the electricity.

  • @DuoArtDanOz cool thanks a lot! That actually makes a lot of sense, I'll do it when it won't wake up anyone... :o

  • @mindbodylightsound10 There is a reed organ society that can assist prople who want to restore these wonderful pieces of americana. Also check out OHS (organ Hist. Soc.).

  • Did you have to do any internal repairs to the instrument? Such as getting stops to work or keys to sound that previously did not? I have an 1889 Estey I'm currently trying to figure out how to repair basically through experimentation. If you have any knowledge of this sort or know where I can get a basic organ schematic or some instruction on how to go about repairing it, any help would be appreciated.

  • i love the sound of an old pump organ
