Koi Kitsune - Rumor Xbox 720 won't play Used Games

So Microsoft is rumored to disallow used games to work on the Xbox 720. It's also rumored that I won't buy the fucking game console.

rumor...ok....stop talking about the 720 already...noone has said anything about it other than other people waiting...unless it comes from the mouth's of microsoft or e3....don't believe it aight. I'm just getting sick of people already talking about the upcoming consoles even though they aren't going to come out for 5 or 10 more years...THERES NO NEED FOR A NEW CONSOLE. If this happens, straight up, I'm never buying another game console ever again. I'm sick of developers and publishers passing on their bloated budgets on to the user with hikes in prices, awful "season pass" nonsense (because how silly of me, I secretly meant to pay $90 for that copy of Gears of War 3 all along) and all that other junk. That kind of logic can piss off. I'll become a PC gamer exclusively at that point.

If this is indeed true, they're not actually shooting themselves in the foot. People will buy the console and the games anyway. There's too many "bro gamers" and 12-year-olds buying the same re-skinned games for any complaints to be taken seriously. They just wanna "have fun", and they'll get it regardless of the long-term implications of this. They'll buy the overpriced games, the arbitrary Xbox Live fees, the "must-have" DLC, and a spare console when they get their 1st one repaired.

Its stupid. You might as well throw it away. Used games are simply the trading of a sale from an unsatified gamer to another one who might be.

Its more wastefull to just toss it, so why change the scene. You know that gamer isn't going to play it then at all. Proves its not about the satisfaction of an indiviual anymore.

Ok I've watched vids on here about the 720 and rumors from a bird telling another bird n spreading the info out about it we will have to see in this years E 3 2012 and if it's true then fuck Microsoft I'm trading my games and my 360 and I'm gonna shove my kinect up there ass's for thinkn of a dumbass idea

they are trying to cut out the evil middle man called gamestop.. i don't blame them.. gamestop has been reaching into everyone's pockets way too much.. the game companies, the developers, the customers, even the magazine market since they have their own and push it on everyone.. they stepped in and just took over every store and they don't even sell nes, snes, genesis, saturn, ps1, or any retro stuff.. i say down with gamestop.. its all their fault

I dont know how things work in the U.S, but overall when you exchange a game here in The Netherlands you get like 1/3 of the new value. I get why they do this. Dont forget that games drop in price quickly nowadays. They have to compensate that money when a game reduces in price. However, giving 4 dollars and then putting it on the shelve for 40 is outrageous. Disabeling used games on Microsoft new console would be a fucking letdown.

But again, next gen will be the last disc based system

This is a huge mistake if Microsoft does this. I don't buy used games that much, but it's nice to get the games you want at a cheaper price. If Microsoft is serious about defeating Sony, they should not put this plan into action. This was a great video because I can't say anything you said better myself.
