This was a motorcycle display circa1987at Princess Marina College Arborfield a Junior REME training establishment. It was put together rather quickly to fill the open day programme. My son Robert aged ten took part along with a few of the lads with their own bikes. Sorry about the quality...it is from a VHS recording, the technology available at the time.

  • ....just a thought, this wouldnt be my old CSM by any chance would it !, Thanks again for bringing back happy memories.

  • @jayelljim ...you are more than welcome and congratulations for passing 'P' Company...proving that you had guts as well as intelligence. It was a priveledge to be involved with your training.

  • This was members of the Motor Cycle Club, it was ran by the CSM of A Coy but his name escapes me, I know his young son (who you can make out by his size on the bike) is in the video and so is my mate Ray Gibson. I remember watching this display...brought back some memories !

  • @jayelljim ...the young lad was was Robert Hamilton who went on to win several schoolboy motocross championships. His very proud Dad is the commentator.

  • Happy that you spotted this... It was as you say an interesting place to be especially as a member of permanent staff. You youngsters had it really tough but coped with the training extremely well in my opinion. Take care.

  • I am so amazed to find this video. I'm one of the riders (4th one over the little jump at 1min 53sec). Man, what memories!! Thanks so much for posting it. Sid Leslie :-)

  • ...Thanks for that, his father was my CSM during my time with A Coy and was a good man, I had a lot of time and respect for him, he actually inspired me to do P Company later in my career as I beleive he served with the Pathfinders. Im pleased to hear his son done well. Thanks for the info and for sharing the video.

  • I was at this college on this date and remember it, I was a Junior Soldier with the RAMC sharing barracks where 90% are not your regiment was interesting.
