Dystopia #3: (Watch in 1080p!) The final film in my "Dystopia" short film trilogy, as well as my final Narrative Production project at UT (RTF 366K).
"The Monitor" takes place in a society that assigns a government agent (or "monitor") to every citizen to oversee their every action every moment of every day. In this overburdening system, one monitor starts to experience feelings for his female monitoree, and these raw, primal emotions not only complicate what should be an asexual relationship with his monitoree, but also conflict with his duty to the government to protect national security at all costs.
"The Monitor" explores the state of privacy in an era where more and more of our privacy rights are being taken (and given) away, and where one can know almost everything about a person without ever having actually met them. This relationship between familiar strangers is new, exciting, frightening and a defining characteristic of our new millennium.

Having god in your life feels just like that, like he's policing everyone, all the time.
