Bret has done the honors many of times, he didn't want to do the honors to Shawn because he said he wouldn't do the same for him.

Well it was more than just doing what he had to do, Vince didn't have to have Bret lose by having the sharpshooter put on him....clearly it was meant to also get back at Bret and humiliate him...that's as clear as day. Apparently they had agreed that Bret would lose by disqualification, that would've been a much more fitting ending...but instead he had to humiliate him. I think that's what the big deal was, not that Bret lost, but that there was a clear intent to disrespect him.

VINCE DIDNT HAVE 2 DO IT. if he didnt do it would the WWE crash and burn? no obviously the Big Show would have saved it. Brett Hart made the WWE a much bigger thing, there wouldnt be an Austin and Rock without Brett. i know he was the one who got me into wrestling. and what happened after Brett? titties shown, story lines that pushed the envelope because no1 knew how to build characters anymore, ppl screaming suck it! and "im an ass man" im not old fashion but it was cheesy and not fun anymore

@baredd79 Remember too that Bret didn't want to lose the title to Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series 1997. He made that very clear.
