Christopher Whitman: Israeli Troops Shot Me With a High-Velocity Tear Gas Canister in the West Bank

DemocracyNow.org - "I was shot at close range with a high-velocity metal tear gas canister. When it hit me, it tore off a part of my scalp," says Christopher Whitman, a 25-year-old US student activist who was injured when he was shot by Israeli forces while attending a West Bank protest on Friday.

At the time of the shooting, Whitman was recording video of the weekly nonviolent protest against the Israeli separation wall in the West Bank. Several Palestinians were also injured during the protest.

Isn't it a tad ironic that the bandage resultant of the injury given to this poor chap by the idf looks like a kippah? maybe they were angry that he wasn't wearing one so they decided to remedy the situation idf stylee.

@rachelgolem Israeli academia and university administration are hardly representative of Israeli society, which is a shame. Embarassment is fundamentally different from expose lies and narratives. People should be able to make their own choices of what to believe in, with freedom of information and equal access to that information. If you consider this embarassment, that is your malfunction, so do not try and suppress other people's abilities to access information.
