Manual credit card machines - there are several options here with how to process credit cards manually, but you'll still need a merchant account (of course) and in addition you'll need a way to capture the transaction information electronically.

This can be done either using a virtual terminal (something like Authorize.Net or another "gateway" account). Or you can capture a transaction at a physical credit card terminal as well.

If you're planning on running a lot of transactions as you are mobile (service businesses or "trade show" style businesses), you may consider a credit card swiping attachment to a smart phone or other usb-device with a laptop connected to a data connected laptop (wifi or cell signal).
