I don't understand how some of the numbers in the M-set can shrink to zero. Unless C is a negative number, it seems to me that you would get numbers higher than zero, even if they are very small.

Actually its probably more accurate to call this recursion, not iteration. Iteration is equivalent to recursion, but is more broad (not necessarily talking about functions.)

Iteration relies upon the state of some system whereas recursion can represent pure functions.

religion as a whole is irrational. it has to be. rational thought cannot grasp the infinite. science and rational thought simply cannot address the questions of infinity in a meaningful way. it requires religion, or irrational thought to provide meaningful answers. it is only through religion that we as intelligent beings can make meaningful connections between the finite(our lives) and the infinite.

Actually, not every value inside the M-set is attracted to zero. They may attract to some other point or find periodic paths.

i have 20 20 vision and since about ten i have seen colours in the air that never stay the same there every- were its like closing your eyes and seeing what your imagination can see then you open your eyes and still see the same thing are these fractals
