This video shows you how to change your crankcase oil, remove and clean your strainer and refill the oil. It's quite easy and will save you big bucks by doing it yourself.

  • Another thing I noticed and felt it needed to be said. The counter will turn red 1000 after it's reset using the key in the slot. Mine turns red in 1,000 miles whereas models using Kilometers are actually 1000 Km. that means every 600 miles and that's a bit too much. I change mine every 1000-1200 miles with is about every 2000Km. Just an FYI. There's nothing wrong with changing oil too much but I think 1000 kilometers is a bit too much. Especially if you use synthetic.

  • You'll see a little slot right below the dash cluster- stick your key in the slot all the way to reset the red light to green

  • Hey man. I just (3 days ago) bought a 2009 sym fiddle 125. Has 800 miles on it. It runs fine from what I know, but the tone of the engine "purr" has changed since I bought. It has gone from a nice, warm, muffled purr to a tinny, quite loud sound. I know the lady I bought it from rarely used it and quite possibly let it sit for a while. Also, I hit a bump the other day and at that moment it seemed to have changed the tone. Knocked something loose? Either way, I will be changing the oil tomorrow

  • @poosonyou Sorry I didn't get back to you- it sounds like you may have knocked a baffle loose inside the muffler or maybe the acorn nuts are loose on the exhaust pipe- I would check both places. Be careful though because the exhaust gasket is a one time use gasket and it you remove the pipe to examine the muffler, you will have to replace the gasket. For more info on that visit my web page- sorry I can't post it here, but it is in the video

  • I have one with about 4.5k miles (bought used) and I just did first oil change after about 1500 miles. I noticed the oil has a gas smell to it. Do you notice that with yours?

  • Thanks for the video. I am thinking about getting a scooter and the SYM HD200 is high on the list. Glad I found your page. I want to do the LEDs now! Haha.

  • Thanks( lansdrymanvideos)...I put the key in the slot where you said it was and yehhhhhhhh... the oil gauge turned back to green.....much appreciated

  • Hi, your video was so easy to follow. I just changed my oil yesterday in my 2009 HD Sym 200cc. Our climate here in N.S. Canada isn't extremeley hot so I used synthetic 10w30. I followed your video to the "T" and everything went well. The only problem is, my oil gauge hasn't gone back to green. It's still showing half red and half green. I took it for a run but still the same. Although it's a 2009, I just bought it from the dealer brand new. I put a little over a 1000km on it and gauge went red

  • nice video, I just changed the oil in my SYM HD200 today! Great videos as always. Great hot sauce too, I've bought some.

  • Thanks! Just what I needed!
