UC Berkeley now ranked #70 forbes

The signs of UC Berkeley’s relative decline are clear. In 2004, for example, the London-based Times Higher Education ranked UC Berkeley the second leading research university in the world, just behind Harvard; in 2009 that ranking had tumbled to 39th place. The ranking changes have occured during Chancellor Birgeneau's reign at Cal.

Stop spending $3,000,000 for consultants to do your job Chancellor Birgeneau

The Chancellor is passionate about spendoing $3,000,000 on consultants when the work of the consultants ans be accomplished by the Cal world class Faculty, Staff and UCB Academic Senate. Contact your Sacramento representative, President Yudof and local radio, TV and newspapers. Save $3.000,000 for Cal's students and faculty.

Every penny of the State funds count. Cal Chancellor is spending $3,000,000 on consultants when the work can be done internally by the world class Faculty, Staff, UCB Academic Senate. Do your job Birgeneau!. Stop playing politics with $3 million: use the $ for students, faculty and staff. The faculty, staff and Academic senate have the integrity and world class knowledge to do a diagnosos and make recommendations to save $350,000,000. Contact your representative in Sacramento, & TV, Radio!

UCB Chancellor Birgeneau Loss of Credibility, Trust from Faculty and Staff.
The UCB budget gap has grown to $150 million, and still the Chancellor is spending money that isn't there on expensive ($3 million) consultants. The Faculty and Staff do not trust the Chancellor. The Chancellor has had to bring in consultatnt to receive recommendations from Faculty and the Academic Senate.! Do something..

@Danerd9, I had the same reaction... was weird, but I suspect it was more about something going on behind the camera.

dis guy smiles as he talks how people got hurt

just shut up!
You can notice how passionate the Chancellor is toward Berkeley's education and progress. He was actually next in line to become the Chancellor at MIT but decided to accept the offer at Berkeley because he believes that the key to America's success (and the world's success) lies in public, not private education.

The chancellor is absolutely right, let's direct out energy into solving these problems. If individuals can protest here and cause all that chaos, we can sure as hell do something productive in preventing any further cuts.
