I love this piece! it's so peaceful and haunting in some parts...but in others it is so passionate and aching. Like at about 2:08 for the violins.:) Verdi was a genius...and this orchestra did a wonderful job of performing this!

Mug, I know you're joking, but "pull it off" doesn't sound good. It's sounds like some sort of caper.

Just get into the art and beauty to the music and the genius of Verdi will carry the orchestra.

LA FORZA DEL DESTINO, Verdi at his very, very best. Is anyone able to disregard this magnificent opera? I saw it at La Scala and will never forget the grandeur of it..

Verdi Opera Ouverture at its best! The one I grew up on was a "private label recording" with Renata Tebaldi and Mario del Monaco leading the cast at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival of 1953 with Mitraupoulos conducting. Great!
