Well, I knew first time about the commercial from "Who killed the electric car" movie. Indeed, is not the most inspirational set of sounds and images, the feeling and emotions it raises are not the happiest ones, I have to admit. I would compare it with X-Files themes more :-), where mystery is mixed with fear... But maybe the commercial ad was not really intended to raise people curiosity...I would ask people today what would be if mobile phone would have been fuel powered? Would you use it?

to me, this commercial doesn't seem creepy. The music sounded like that of a mystery and that something too good to be true actually did exist and that the feeling in this commercial made it seem like we're supposed to be in amazement and awe. That's what I got

The message of the commercial is: "Buying electric cars will lead to a nuclear holocaust in which the shadows of your loved ones will be burnt into the cold, unfeeling concrete, the last ghastly memorial to the hubris of humanity. There will come soft rains, and then crumbling stones, forever."
