Puerto Escondido has proved itself to be a worthy contender for the IBA GSS.
In 2010, The Mexican Pipe dished up 5 days of perfect surf and exceeded the expectation and
minimum standards for a Grand Slam event. With an eager team of professionals waiting for the
green light, The Mexican Pro will be a vital part of the 2011 series.
Three days of GQS trials will allow the Top 4 qualifiers to join the IBA Top 24 and 4 wildcards in
the main event. The event will have a seven-day window using the new contest formula that will
use a maximum of 3 days to finish. This will ensure the best conditions for all riders involved.
