    This was not Idina Menzel's best performance, but it's not typical of how she plays Elphaba. She was ill for the Tony's and still went on!

    Anyone who has seen Idina live knows that no one can touch her when she's "on."

    As for Willemijn Verkaik: she's good, but she's yet another actress trying to fill Idina's shoes. Hundreds of women have played the role all over the world. Idina is still the gold standard.

    Unless Verkaik originates a role of her own she's just another replacement.
