Where is the common sense? Honolulu Fire trucks will compete with busy traffic on Kawaipuna Street. Affected Hauula residents know that the old KFC lot is further away from residential homes and busy traffic. Yet Tom Miyata refused to listen and provided misinformation to City Council in his quest to condemn properties.

  • Update: Owners subpoenaed city officials but Mufi Hannemann's attorneys quashed on basis that public officials are very busy; owners are a nuisance, harassing and inconveniencing these officials. Ironically, on their way home to Hauula, owners saw Bryan Mick - City Community Relations sign-waving for Mufi Hannemann in front of Nimitz City Mill at 11:34 am August 11, 2010.

  • Update: May 15, 2010 Mufi Hannemann corporation attorneys have filed lawsuit against owners for possession of the land.. Owners have filed lawsuit against city. What a waste of taxpayers' money in today's budget crisis!

  • look @ 1:21 das my auntyy au'ritiee

  • this is STUPID au'reddy get one firestation in hauula no need anadda one

  • @Boost717 You don't live next to the site. Have some respect for your neighbors. Your comments say more about you. The city is not our boss. We pay their salaries.

  • This dumb. They going build um where they want so not even worth fighting and making up excuses like get plenty traffic on that road cause i know no get that much i live like 2 minutes away.

  • @kefster00 ---You are repeating the dishonest PR soundbite the city uses. Plain stupid and a distraction from the real issues. Why does Hauula need a $13 Million fire station relocation for less than a mile? The new McCully-Moiliili fire station only costs $4.6 Million.

  • Good for Hauula they need a need a new fire station. This is more of a money issue.

  • We are talking about CONDEMNATION of land. Hauula did not know what was going on. The city had other site options they did not even bother to consider.

We are complaining about government transparency.

This is wrong priorities. This is not a good time to relocate and spend millions. The firemen do fine with their fire trucks. Firemen and city workers would like to have a steady paycheck instead of giving millions to contractors at this budget crisis.

  • Shame on Donovan Dela Cruz and the Fire Chief Silva. What idiots! The city is out of control.
