  • The korowai was a tohu. It didn't want any part of what was about to happen...

  • @andreaevehopkins Correct me if I have misunderstood what you are saying, however if you are saying that the reason he was ejected was the fact he took the oath in Maori that is incorrect. He was allowed to take the oath in Maori, however is required by law to swear alliegence to the Queen - in modern times the queen is the figure-head of the state and represents the state. He instead swore alliegence to the treaty which is not the required oath under the law.

  • They need to revisit and rewrite some of our laws. It seems a bit racist knowing people can't speak an official language of New Zealand, in this case Maori. They didn't even give him a chance. Perhaps Hone Harawera was about to mention his allegiance to the Queen? Everyone just jumps to conclusions with the man. Yes, he, Hone Harawera, has had his ups and downs, but let the man have a chance. What ever happened to Hobson's idea of "Together as one"? Abolished? Hmm..

  • @MaoriWithaGun We don't miss you

  • Lockwood is probably the best and fairest Speaker we've ever had.... such an unenviable job!

But good on him for laying down the law!

  • Hone is such a tool...

Democracy is awesome when it allows racists into government (of all colours)

  • They do not even follow their own Oaths & Declarations Act 1958- Ask any Judge, Police, to declare their oath of office and they wont.

  • typical, what else would you expect from Maori, they demand respect for there culture but when it comes to respecting anything else they are just a bunch monkeys,

    disrespectful!

  • @nativesista

So that is what it was called.....thank you. I was amazed how smart is was to not enter the floor.....

  • When will these vermin learn that jibbering like monkeys using clicks and grunts in Parliament is unacceptable? Respect the white man and our rules, only a few years ago John Hatfeild would be in chains for this.
