Barclay James Harvest are an English rock band. They were founded in Saddleworth, Yorkshire, in September 1966 by John Lees, Les Holroyd, Stuart "Woolly" Wolstenholme (1947--2010), and Mel Pritchard (1948--2004).

Lyrics:
Rain, sea, surf, sand, clouds and sky
Hush now baby, don't you cry
There's a mocking bird
Singing songs in the trees
There's a mocking bird
Singing songs
Just for you and me

Rain, sea, surf, sand, clouds and sky
Time will see your tears run dry
There's a mocking bird
Singing songs in the trees
There's a mocking bird
Singing songs
Just for you and me

There's a mocking bird
Singing songs in the trees
There's a mocking bird
Singing songs
Just for you and me

Rain, sea, surf, sand, clouds and sun
Bless the tears of love now gone
There's a mocking bird
Singing songs in the trees
There's a mocking bird
Singing songs
Singing just for me...

  • its the only song i prefer the live version which is more powerful. but still very pleasant !

  • @newkey2011 I was also agoosebumpst that concert in Weeley An amazing moment Still get goosebumps

  • good!オーケストラ入りですね。

  • Amazing..... We miss such beautiful songs!!!

  • @maxiswall It is a great version - but this was BJH at their best. I like the Enid but how can you compare it to the original. That said I know BJH and Robert Godfrey of the Enid had a big legal bust up over royalties. Shame as they all contributed to late 20C music so much. RIP Woolley

  • @maxiswall

    We prefer this one

    thank you

  • So good. Had forgotten about this one until I heard it on TOTP over New Year.

  • saw BJH perform this in 1971 at a festival very early hours of the morning in a field, the only

light coming from the stage lighting, the 30 odd piece orchestra sounding very ethereal at that time

    in the limited moonlight.

  • toujours aussi magnifique!!!! merci de l'avoir mise en ligne

  • I love this song...so beautiful..
