don't go for sure!!! always fighting with parents if u not doing good.. u need to make friends new ones i mean and u dont got good looking saying on ur head so u better don't go xD nah just kidding but u really don't go it sucks....
If you choose a uni' course that is geared towards a specific SKILL (such as the 3D Modelling you mentioned) you *may* gain a qualification that has some currency in the real world.
Perhaps you should take a broad qualification as your first degree and then specialise with a Postgraduate certificate that will actually help you get a JOB.
If you don't want to stay permanently in academia (and hard slog and theory aren't yer thang) - the main benefit will be how lucky you are networking.
Which is ok cus having some money is always good. But I think the best thing to do is just take that big step into the world.Meet lots of new people. Some of the best parties ive been to have been with students. It will be the best time of your life. I cant wait to go to uni, but I have to admit that I am putting it off a bit. Dont make my mistake, just go straight for it. If you dont like the course you can change it... I know plenty of people who have changed course.
You will meet a lot of different people, you will go to a lot of parties and have a lot of fun. You might learn a few things too, but who cares about that. Pick a subject you love, theres loads out there. Media, graphic design, web design etc etc. If you take a year out there is the danger that you just wont go back. Because unless your heart is in it then you probably wont be arsed to make the effort to get into uni without the help of college and you will just keep your normal job.
Damn those irrelevant hoops.
