This is a term that was created by the Romans. 2. Current day "Nubian" are the true Egyptians. 3. The nose of the Sphinx was reported missing centuries before Napoleon's birth. It appears to have been chiseled off. You can still see the chisel marks. I believe the face (which was carved from the eroded stump of the original) is not only black African, but female. Indigenous legend tells us that the Sphinx was built in 3 stages beginning…get this…54,000 years ago. That, if true, would explain a few things. Freeman gets much right. @fuckfreshmen Egypt is a later, Greek term. Kemet does indeed mean "the black land", but this refers to the LAND, the fertile soil at the banks of the Nile. It does not refer to the color of the people. Such racial classifications were unknown prior to the Greek conquest. That said, that the original Badarian culture was negroid is beyond dispute. Kemet was invaded by the Asiatic Hyksos and various others becoming quite an ethnic melting pot during the later dynastic period.
