i produced this film short in order to inform everyone interested on the opinion of one person. in it a remark on the outragious popularity of wigs, hair weave, and chemical perms amigst black women. i hope it will catch on and get a lot of hits, so that the awareness will spread that dressing up like a white person will not get you an intelligent black male. im from detroit, michigan u.s.a..

  • @blackdudemedia....Isa Abdulla....what?..and please don't tell me you have a white man's last name!....You came to Detroit by way of?....birth or boat?...Here we are African American Women trying to feel good about our creativity and self assuredness and you harp on us because we like to manage our hair differently?...Are we putting you down because you are not the "best dressed" Black man we've ever seen?...or the most handsome of men we've ever seen?..No!...Uplift..LIFT UP!..Idiot!

  • thx for the energetic response @coffEKolor.

  • he likes natural hair!

he means good, i think he just thinks only black ppl get their hair done

when whites used to get perms and wear extensions

its just that weaves and black people are more known about i guess

but he could have been nicer

  • @narunoting understan that you are not by far the first to make this comment on this video. i will respond by saying we as individuals dont have to create standards for ourselves based on what other people or groups do. this maybe be complex for many but that is the way i think. -blackdudemedia

  • i am a black woman i never wore weave. I have soft permed hair. My grandmother had really naturally long hair. she never permed nor wore weave. think before you post these videos.

  • i did @SARISS80, for years actually.

  • Fact: Most white stars wear lace/wigs, extension etc this is not limited to black women. Not ALL black women wear extensions etc because they don't have hair! Stop generalizing!!! Not all wear weaves or wigs either! I have very long hair and people automatically assume it's a weave as if black women can't have long hair. Look around You tube you will see plenty! Wigs, weaves etc is used by women of ALL ethnic back grounds. Black women are just more open about it, We are REAl about the fake!!

  • I respect your opinion, but I think your are wrong. Why is it a problem when black women wear weave. I just started wearing weave and I love it. Just because I wear a weave does not mean I hate being black it means that I want a different look. So for those brothers who think we are doing this to be white YOU ARE WRONG. I love being a black women, so please dont go there. That's the problem with our race today. We are so busy putting each other down, instead of uplifting each other.

  • Lastly, you say you don't care what white people think, but you say at 1:43 that if you were a member of another race you would laugh and think it's childish. So which is it? Do you care or don't care? Weave started out as a way to assimilate, to combat racism which still exists today. So I don't feel that putting down women who aren't comfortable with it like it's completely their fault is a helpful or productive point without historical/societal context. And that's all I gotta say, brother.

  • It's not what's on your head it's what's in it. Granted, the outside often reflects whats on the inside, but its too simplistic to say you are self hating unless you wear your hair natural. It IS self hating to be shooting each other up, putting each other down, hating and competing with each other, light vs dark, old vs young, man vs woman just like willie lynch wanted. Go head ladies and do whatever you want and don't listen to these peoplewho try to police you. This is coming from a NATURAL.

  • What about when black men brush waves, to emulate a certain hair texture? Or never let their natural hair grow long (always wear it short) or get line ups, even though I hear that is not good either and can make you go bald faster? Before you go dogging black women and grouping us all up, and basically saying we are self hating if we don't all have a fro... I suggest people who agree with this vid take a good hard look at our ENTIRE community, men and women.

  • For SOME people it can be an act of self hatred, not all women. I am a 21 year-old natural (for years)... and I rock a wig or weave when I feel like it, although that's rare. I would perm again, if I felt like it. I also don't do things based on "white standards," and I don't do things for what men think... You are perfectly free to think these things are ugly and self hating... and I can also think that you are out of line for policing black women and grouping us all.

  • Majority of black women wear fake hair that's mimics the hair of other races and that's a sad fact. (not to mention we make Koreans millions of dollars that could otherwise benefit our own community).

  • Other races of women do wear fake hair. HOWEVER, how often do you see non-black women wearing fake afro wigs or other black natural hairstyles (and pls don't let a RARE case scenario represent the collective).? When a white woman wears a blonde, straight wig that hair mimics her natural hair. When a black woman wears blond, straight hair (or the hair type of any other race) it does not mimic her natural hair and its obvious that its FAKE.

  • Not ta be racist but even sum white females wear weaves ...I understand everyone has an opinion but black arent the only one who have done it....like seriously grow up lol ...jus dont date em lol n who cares wat u think anyway....I just had ta watch ur vid wen it popped up lol to funny

  • I've never worn a weave in my life & never will but that's my choice. There are a plethora of reasons for why some black women choose to wear weaves, & just because they prefer to wear weaves doesn't neccessarily mean their bald head. But you certainly have a right to your preference.

  • @lokeysSucksAss....you hatin on Lokeys?...AND Black Women?.....he musta took a black woman from you that wore a weave huh?....smh....Don't hate becoz YOU can get a black woman.Followin that dude around hatin on him....Ya just sad.

  • why are black women getting so mad and offended by this mans opinion? calling him names and insulting him is not going to change how he feels, now me I dont care about the next bitch or her fake ass hair to me it only looks bad when they get hella long weave ewww stay in the realm of reality ladies there is no such thing as a bad or "real" bitch with 22 inch weave lol
