  • @mafralac I'm confused - who are you referring to?

  • This is the way the song really is supposed to be sung, to the tune of Beethoven's Ode to Joy, not the stupid modern-day versions that our society tries to feed us. Good job, whoever posted this!

  • Amazing song! Thanks to Soeur Catherine, from the school of Sainte Trinité, who introduced me to Music on the piano, decades ago! She was also my voice teacher! A wonderful human being (Nun)! I used to get frustrated with her every time she would say, Again! Again! Again! I know God forgave me my stubbornness, for I eventually acquired the art of patience, dealing with my children :( So, I clicked Replay 3x, lol :) in memory of Sister Catherine! Thanks for posting! God bless everyone!

  • @kevincz99 Isn't church for the believers? The modern church has lost so much by trying to be "seeker-friendly." Think of it this way. If the church compromises to become like the world, what is there to draw people away from the world into the church? The Bible calls us to be different, separate. And while that might mean not being exactly "modern," that might just be a good thing.

  • Beautiful, I've enjoyed it, thank you for uploading it, brother/sister.

  • @Ia2U So glad God is not locked in to one style. Because if He was, you and I probably wouldn't have his approval. Why don't you just be nice and post how much you enjoy this post without tearing down others?

  • @kevincz99 amen brother. a church that lives in the past is a dead church! we must keep growing and reaching out to new people, and to do it with vigour, and passion! i will admit, this dusty old organ hymn never filled me with passion, but the "stupid modern-day version" most certainly did.

  • @Ia2U I completely agree with you. I am Hindu from Kolkata, India, but studies in a missionary college where we performed this song in a choir. I was trying to listen to it again, but sadly, it took me ten minutes to find out this one among the worst "rock" ones (I had to Google for "Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee Traditional" actually). Great song, and great job done by both the uploader, and you too, for advocating for the original version.

  • @Ia2U please. Maybe if there was electric guitars when this song was written, there just might be a blazing guitar solo in the song. Make a joyful noise to the Lord all the Earth...."stupid modern-day versions that our society tries to feed us"? Please. If you want the church to be like it was in the 50's, it is going to go into the grave with you and seize to exist. Arent we called to reach out to the lost? If you go to church to "fill" yourself, get out, church is for the lost and broken

  • how come this glorious hymn is the same tune as the german national anthemn

  • Here i am in october singing christmas songs

  • because indeed it destroy's schiller message of universal friendship

  • this is such a blasfemy how could you destroy the ode of joy this way.
