Jimmy Page never wanted to 'leave' the Yardbirds,quite the opposite.Read the book "Yardbirds The Ultimate Rave-Up and get all the facts why the band broke up.It was precipitated by Relf and McCarty wanting to get away from Pages hard driven rock in favor of lighter pop music.Relf and McCarty screwed up basically.
