Yes,there are more beautiful renditions of this aria, sopranos with more beautiful voices and tones but nobody puts into it the heartache, anguish and passion that Maria Callas does and the voice is extraordinary enough and the vocal technique strong enough to deliver musically all that is needed to knock our socks off.Callas,swells and floats those high notes divinely. Grand DIVA to her toes!

The tragedy was that they met at all! Callas neglected singing and music for the time she was wih Ari and was never really able to resume her artistic stride after the breakup. I think he distracted her rom her art with frivolity,his Euro trash society and destroyed her confidence as a woman by throwing her over for a younger and more famous (after stopping Maria from singing)Jackie Kennedy. Singing was Callas's'life and what she did musically will make her immortal. Ari added nothing!

De Aristóteles Onassis se puede decir que era un hombre tan pobre que sólo tenía dinero. Su necesidad de figurar era tan grande que arruinó las vidas de dos grandes mujeres públicas sólo para obtener notoriedad. Tanto María Callas como Jackie Kennedy fueron sus víctimas inocentes. ¿Quién sabe cuántas hay que no fueron conocidas-?
