http://www.dslrfilmnoob.com/2011/03/20/35-wireless-bluetooth-setup-works-great/ I've been waiting to post this for more then a week. The first Bluetooth transmitter I received was defective and I had to send it back. The seller was kind enough to cover return shipping, but the back and forth took awhile.

I finally received the working Bluetooth transmitter a few days ago and had a chance to run the setup through its paces. I'm very happy to say that everything works great! I was able to get clean audio transmitted over 50 feet line of site and about 20 feet through walls. Two tests of battery life showed 5 hours the first test and 3 hours 45 min second test. Not the 8 hours promised by the manual but still quit good for the price. The receiver actually ran out of power before the transmitter on the second test. I would have thought it would be the other way around.

Both the transmitter and receiver aren't much bigger then a compact flash card so they wont add much weight to your rig and since the Bluetooth transmitter sends stereo audio you can get 2 channels of audio back to your camera.

I have the full write up with links and pictures here:

  • OMG OMG OMG! I'm freaking out! Can you use a double pair of these at the same time?

  • @JulianKooijmans I would recommend using 2 sets at the same time. Bluetooth devices go a little crazy if to many other bluetooth signals are around.

  • is it possible to run a sennheiser g2 system to a zoom h1?

  • @heymrrayray yes.

  • what codec do you use in adobe cs5 to optimize your video quality?

  • @7boa I use mpeg2 and H.264 for the most part. Works well as an output format.

  • do you have magic lantern on your camera ?

  • Say my sound guy was to run a tascam dr-05 with the bluetooth sender and headphones. Would he be able to moniter the sound and Would my 550D add the AGC after it is relayed to the mic input on the camera?

  • omg dude you are the best now i can fully use the zoom h2 and not have to worry about syncing my clips in post, your the best I love your channel.

  • @onelonedork If I wanted to have four people hear the same signal from one transmitter could I do it. I think I could have a cheap way of a in ear monitoring system for my band.

  • @Pacman020974- Check out my page and look for Drift HD camera review. Excellent camera for race cars which is exactly what I do. Drift HD by Drift Innovation
