Myself and 4 friends went on a mission in August 2004 to find the castle used on U2's Unforgettable Fire album and the Craggy Island Parocial House from Father Ted... It was a wild weekend!

  • where is that castle on front of the unforgettable album?

  • It's near Athlone. It's called Moydrum Castle. To get to there, take the first exit off the N6 westbound after Kilmartin's Roundabout. Go right. You'll see a sign for Mount Temple on your right, take that. A few miles down the road (past 'Tubs & Tiles') you'll see Moydrum forest on your right. Take your next right turn, ignore the next road veering off to your right and you should see the castle.

  • Hey, what was the song that started on the "2nd day" part ?

  • Sing for Absolution, Muse

  • love muse and father ted. great pictures by the way.

  • nice work lads. So dark, it's almost like being blind!

  • copyright on the music sucks ass

  • guys ..that was really cool thing to do... i bet the houseowners are thinking."down with that sort of ting"....lol

  • Craggy Island isn't a real place. The house itself is on the Irish mainland near Lisdoonvarna in County Clare.

  • Moydrum Castle near Athlone Co Westmeath. paricquirke's directions are correct, check out the RTE broadcasting station nearby, it's what had "Athlone" written on many transistor radios for years.

  • God the house hasnt changed at all!!! :D:D:D:D
