Pinku no mise refers to adult stores lol.They chose the name SCANDAL because it was the biggest sign on the name board. It had been written in katakana so they adopted the English spelling.

sorry for the repeats - I messed up! other highlights - Haruna describes how the band got its name - this story appears in almost every interview - They originally practiced in a studio on the six floor of a building otherwise filled with "Pinku no mise" - aka "adult" establishments - I think what Japanese call "hostess" bars - usually run by shady sometimes organized crime types. They chose their name from the signs out front naming all of the bars, one of which was "Scandal".
