On whether or not it's possible to be "drunk in The Spirit" and sober at the same time ------ MAYBE. That is, I won't exclude the possibility.
I have certainly never seen an orderly, self-controlled "spiritual" drunk. They just look like booze-hounds and a disgrace.
Never would I intend to divide the body; rather, I intend to divide truth from error. And there's plenty of error...

Believe it or not it's possible to be "drunk" in The Spirit and live soberly. I notice that was a typo of fruits. When some of you Americans learn correct English maybe you will be able to critisize mine!
Lol. Just kidding. :)

"one of the fruits"...?? FRUIT. Singular evidence of His work in your life.
Eph 5v18 may be the ONLY "proof text" that proponents use. What about the dozen or so NT commands to BE SOBER (sober-minder, live soberly, etc)???
What about not using liberty to offend others, building up (edifying) the church/body, being like-minded, etc?

Thank you! Anyone with a shred of spiritual maturity can tell what this is. . . . . . NOTHING NEW.
As a Bible School student I am appalled. While God didn't tell me to toke a baby image of himself, he tell me to judge people by their fruit.

Amen!
I have to say Nat you are one of the few gifted brothers that has the ability to rightly divide the word of truth. Your real good for the Crowderites, I believe that God has sent in the right messenger to deliver His truth. Stand steadfast in the faith brother, I will continue to pray for you and the work that the Holy Spirit has given you to do.
God Bless!

Crowderites don't enjoy scrutiny. Their quasi-theology simply won't withstand honest examination.

hitthedarknessbong, blocked me because he didn't like the fact that I pronounced his name in a adulterated manner, but these "Tokers" feel that it's pleasing to a Holy God to adulterate His Holy names with illicit drugs! (Godka, Jehovawuina and the like.) What a display of fleshly arrogance!
1Pe 4:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: I believe this scripture speaks of the Crowderites perfectly!
Yes I am free.

Have you ever been "overwhelmed" by the power of the Holy Spirit like in Acts 2?
God wants that for us. The disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high.
Do you believe that after the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you that theres also an empowerment of the Holy Spirit to live like Jesus did?If you do why be offended by the outer packaging?God can use any symbol he wants. In the OT God frequently used symbols to show he had authority over idols.

I see Acts 2 as being a very specific and unique instance pertaining to the foundational NT church. I don't think that the apostles teach Pentecost as a model for Christian conversion. I'm not Pentecostal. I believe that the giving of the HS empowers godly living, but I'm not sure what u mean by 'live like Jesus did'. Pretending to get high off plastic baby Jesus dolls is idolatry at worst and simply foolish at best. Also not sure what u mean by 'symbol' you'd have to explain.

I agree the HS does empower us for godly living. Is that automatic? Or does it require our continual faith and actions to stay hooked up to what God has already provided through the death and resurrection of Jesus? I believe the latter. If we walk in the Spirit we do not gratify the lusts of the flesh."Toking" the HS is merely an outward symbol and application of faith, just like raising hands in worship.etc. Man does look on the appearance of these things, but God sees the heart.Bless you bro.

I am fully aware that its an expression of worship. And it is one that will not fly within orthodox Christianity. Analogy: How about pretending to have sex acts with a Jesus blow up doll as an expression of worship? I mean c'mon, He called himself the bridegroom right...that's just redeeming the culture for Christ...its just a symbol of faith man from Song of Solomon. Ease off. God would see my heart in that, even though people see it as degrading and foolish.
