  • The end of the video is inaccurate. Britain abolishes the transatlantic slave trade in 1807. Wilberforce does not die until 1833, the same year Britain abolishes slavery in some of its empire.

  • Great video! I am reading Uncle Tom's Cabin right now and this book and the movie featured in this video have been among the most inspiring things I have read/watched in my life! I also loved the autobiography by Booker T. Washington, a former slave. What a great video to make during Black History Month to help your students understand the important role William Wilberforce played in abolishing the slave trade in Europe!
