Sony has announced a 160GB PS3 that will hit stores in November for $500. The limited-edition system will also include the rumble-ized DualShock 3 controller and two games: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and (via a voucher for the PlayStation Store) Pain. This system will replace the current MGS4 bundle.

the 40GB Core PS3 is being replaced by an 80GB Core for $400. Meanwhile, the limited-edition 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 bundle that's been available for the past couple of months is disappearing from retail shelves as well

none of these new systems will be backwards compatible. will only have two USB Ports and no Storage Media slots

SO GO PICK UP THE MGS4 BUNDLE BEFORE THEY RUN OUT IF YOU WANT B/C AND THE EXTRA 2 USB PORTS ALONG WITH THE MEDIA SLOTS

you know when you have inserted a game and you select the game (so shuffle the menu on the CD) you sometimes have SWEET backgrounds, I want to know if I can take those ?

@deathjoker666, I agree with you entirely. There should have made all PS3's PS2 backwards compatible. They have PS1 and PS3, but not PS2? WTF? At least in software emulation to save money. C'mon Sony! I just upgraded mine to 320 gb. If mine craps out, I will just get a new one once I have money and take out my new hard drive and the standard 40 gb that came standard back in Aug 08 when I bought it. I agree, its annoying. I have a Slimline PS2 also. Maybe they might do it when PS2's are extinct.

backward capability should be there in all models just in case people want to play old games on the ps3. i understand that some people don't play older games when newer consoles are out but some people do.

it don't affect me cus i have a ps2 slimline to play ps2 and ps1 games on it. but still its annoying to have multiple consoles to play games on. i still play old games. i have a N64(example only) so back to sony. they should make a patch for those who want to play ps2 games on their 80gb 2 usb ports or others thatcan't play older games. at least they should put games up on psn for downloads.

There are rumors if it being rumored to be released with software emulation, but I would rather have a PS2 and play all PS2 games instead of it playing only 75% of PS2 games with glitches. My friend has a PS2 FAT one and it still works since like 2002-2003 and it still works used from GameStop. Most people think BC is an overrated feature. Most people disagree, but again, its a matter of preference. I don't care really. Its good to have it on 1 system, but at the same time, not if its half-assed
