Leon Kennedy (b. 1945, Houston, Texas) Renowned African American spiritual visionary artist discusses a new work with Wiliam Latham.

In 1997 the Smithsonian Institution purchased the most significant pieces from the Rosenaks' collection of contemporary American folk art, including an outstanding 1995 87" x 77" bedsheet painted with numerous figures by Leon Kennedy.
The 1997 Vol. 10 No. 3 Folk Art Messenger notes the fact these works were the first American collection exhibited at the Collection de l'Art Brut in Switzerland "testifies to its quality and uniqueness." Kennedy's sheet now resides with The Smithsonian American Art Museum.
