You idiots! Get a life. I love these guys who think they are the church policemen! John is not perfect...I'm sure he's screwed up plenty. Todd, you are a dork!
Big difference between being obedient and being a nice guy!! The book is only bad theology when it is when we misunderstand what it is saying! This guy is only one example of what has gone wrong with the church today!! Book is not meant for unbelievers.
you really need to read the book and not read your own thoughts. I think you are just taking stuff out of context from the book. I think you just don't like it because others do. (again he's not advacating sin or disobedance) didn't read the book but just from what you read it sounds like your not taking it in context. disclaimers are there for a reason check out his interviews on it or have him on your show.
4:28 is hilarious--sounds like Clint Eastwood almost...or as close as goofy Todd (said endearingly) can get to it :)

@MudsterJeep I've read the book and I believe it completely goes against Jesus's commandments. Does that automatically make me an unbeliever?

Read the book,Todd, and stop being such an idiot.
If you wanna kill the desire in your own heart THAT GOD PLACED THERE,then shut up and do it. Leave the rest of the planet alone.

"not to mention his openness theology..."
even though John Eldridge himself said in the book that "for those aware of the theological debate, I am not advocating open theism."
Some folks just really have it out for others.

The biggest lie of Wild at Heart is that John Eldredge not only misapplied scripture, he actually changed the verse!
Read Proverbs 20:5. Eldredge basis his whole philosophy on this verse which he quotes as:
"The heart of a man is like deep water..."
The verse actually says, "Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water..."
That right there should invalidate his entire book. Not to mention his openness theology, low view of God and high view of man, etc..
