Hodgson établit l'origine berbère des noms des plus anciennes divinités égyptiennes.

Osiris = awsir-is, l'ancêtre, représenté barbu, alors que les pharaons (et les pharaonnes) n'avaient qu'une barbe postiche et les autres égyptiens étaient représentés imberbes.
