A "Balloon Project" from over 100 years ago.

This manned hydrogen filled balloon took off from Market and 11th (South Van Ness today). At 0:25 you see a row of houses built in 1860. At 0:48 seconds you see Van Ness and Hayes. At 1:19 you can just slightly see Angel Island in the bay. At 1:31 is Lafayette Park. At 1:45 you see St. Ignatius Church (USF). At 1:56 you (don't) see City Hall (cause it wasn't built yet). At 2:16 you see Hayes Valley root tops.

This was a popular tourist attraction back then. A few weeks before this video was shot one of them carrying a bunch of people broke loose and traveled 50 miles before coming down.
