So what you're saying is that someone who is a murdering maniac but believes in God is still going to be saved? I don't think God would take someone like that. We are told to be Christ-like, not just believe. Believing is the first step, but then doing what Jesus would do is what we are told to do.

@rippletail The only people God saves are sinners. But to be saved is not just to believe God exists and go on living like you did. To be saved is to acknowledge that you are a sinner, completely depraved, without any way of making yourself acceptable to God. For God to save you, you must fall wholly on the grace of Christ and turn away from all your sin with Christ's power. Only then can you be saved. God will and has saved murderers, but those who continue in sin are most definitely not saved.

Imagine the Love and Grace our Father has for us

Imagine if someone murdered your son, you have to forgive the murderer willingly, completely and forget what the murderer have done

Not only that, you give that murderer everything that you gave and will give your son willingly , love him, and call him your son

That is what our Father did

And Jesus was willing to die for us although he can save himself that time, but he chose us for us.

And He PAID EVERYTHING for Us No work is needed to receive it

@rippletail God loves us & has given us freedom of choice to choose from hell or heaven. Leaving our old ways behind (be it murder or hating your neighbor) and living a new life in Jesus frees us from our destruction & being sent to hell. Becoming a believer isn't going to be a walk in the park. Even the greatest members of the church can fall to satan's lies. Believing Jesus died on the cross for our sins & having a relationship w/ Jesus through the Holy Spirits saves us from our sins.

To say that god wouldn't want a sinner to come to His would be like saying the blood Jesus shed was not good enough. Confessing is the first step, believing in your heart is the final step. if that final step is your last in your walk with Him then it is enough. If they are not, then live and love as Christ

@rippletail Jesus is not interested in changing one's conduct. He is more interested in heart transformation. Then our conduct will effortlessly change from the inside out. The only way to truly become christ-like is recon-zing that with you and in you, there is no goodness. Then coming to Jesus and embrace his Arms of love for the sinner and the needy. keeping your eyes on the grace and goodness of Jesus and He will perform the Heart transformation.
