How much did you get for it? this was a really nice olds I must say.
-
Please don't say 4-40-2!
-
Trunk: room for all music equipment including the drumset (don't even get that in today's full size sedans except-pardon my language-Lincoln Town Car and Mercury Grand Marquis)

Hey! nice car!!
In your case, the first 4 in 442 mans 400 cui.
before 66,it meant 4 on the floor.
A little late,i know..=)
-
You are correct- 4-4-2 ORIGINALLY meant
4 speeds, 4 barrels and dual exhausts. As the car became popular, Olds did not adhere to this as a rule, creating automatics and cars with 6 barrels (e.g., tri-power option in 1966).

ahhhh the sounds of the quadra bog lol

i have a magazine from 1967 "Hi Performance Cars" in wich the 442 is featured and they clearly tell that a 442 means 4 speeds, 4 barrels and dual exhausts. It gives a detailed review about the car and all the performance accessories that could be added straight from the factory.

1967 Oldsmobiles weren't "numbers matching". The vin was not stamped on the block. you need to make sure it has the correct engine code. Cowl tag should also have a letter V in the lower left corner. Engine should be bronze color... Yours looks to be gold like the 330/350c.i. engine.
do you stil have the car and if you do how much do you want for it.
