The word purgatory is latin for fire. The Bible says that it is a wholesome thing to pray for the dead, "so that they may be loosed from the pains of their sin." why pray for them if they are in heaven? and if they are in hell, will praying for them do any good? obviously there is a purgatory.

The Catholic Church is the One True Church established by Jesus Christ this generation says "this teaching is to hard" so we look for what ever makes feel ok about our selves....faith without repentance is dead.

God is perfect love and justice, he would not allow you to enter into eternal kingdom without complete purity of soul. It is against who he is. He must go through a period of purgation in order to be made clean, for nothing unclean will enter heaven (cf. Rev. 21:27).

May I also throw in Luke 12:47,48? "The slave who knew his master's wishes but did not prepare to fufill them will get a severe beating, whereas the one who did not know them and who nonetheless deserved to be flogged will get off with fewer stripes". Matthew 18:34,35 "The Master handed him over to the torturerers 'til he paid paid all that he owed. My heavenly Father will treat you in exactly the same way unless you forgive your brother from your heart".

While on earth everyone must be SANCTIFIED in the Church of God and not in the Roman Catholic Church.
1Co 1:1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

Porgatury is not in the bible because there are only two destinations, HEAVEN and HELL.
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

First Jesus gave his life freely. Second the soldiers crucified him no doubt but you leave out the why. Was it at Rome's request? did Rome bring him to judgement? I thought it was the Jews? Your Biblequest needs work

I don't believe you ever were a priest; please post some details of your training (where you went, who your bishop was, etc. etc.) This sort of data is easy to check.
I think you are on a par with Alberto Rivera.

1Cor 3:11-15 is about envying, strife, and divisions between brethrens in the Church. This is not about purgatory.
Revelation21:27 - nothing unclean shall enter heaven, Hebrews 12:23 - All in heaven have been made perfect, 1 Corinthians 3:11-15 Fire will test each ones work. he will be saved but only as through fire, Luke 12:41-48 There are different degrees of punishment after death = Purgatory. The word was coined in the year 600A.D.

The word Trinity is not in the Bible either! In both the Old and New Testament. What a silly argument!
The concept of purgatory IS mentioned in the bible, both in the New and the Old Testament. 1 Cor 3: 11-15 is in one place, but it's allover. To those who say this video represents what Catholics believe in, it does NOT. We believe that Catholics are saved through Jesus, but we must continue with Him. And sometimes we need to still be purged before Heaven. So we go to purg first.
